all about food. not!

well, not all about food.  here's alison, just before she went for her dance recital in the evening.  and here she is, at home after her performance.

these are the 4 cherry trees in uncle jerry's garden.  as you come out from the dining area onto the patio, it is on the right, on the side of the house.  one of them, is supposed to produce yellow cherries but there is no fruit this year.  think he said it is called the prince rainier - after the king of monaco i guess.  the others are bing cherries (the most popular type) and some other names i can't recall.  hey i found this on the internet when looking up the names.

Did you know that cherries may have POWERFUL pain relief benefits for runners and other athletes? Cherries contain anthocyanins 1 and 2 that researchers believe can have a significant impact on relieving muscle and joint soreness more quickly. And, cherries’ powerful bundle  of antioxidants and carbohydrates offer added nutrition active people need.

uncle jerry picking the cherries and what we get to enjoy!  hopefully i can bring some back.

ok, as promised.  food!  i mean, more food!!!

lunch was spaghetti with sausages.  these sausages had bits of apple and stuff in them.  quite good.  and the greens are from uncle jerry's garden!  you can't get them fresher than this!

dinner was purple!  it was sweet potato porridge.  more sausages, this time in curry.  as well as chinese sausages and omelette and that dish that many of you like, with the cabbage, shrimp and tang hoon.

here's ashley, picking her way through dinner:)  she does not like the shrimp and the garlic.  or the greens.  but she ate them anyway.

oh i almost forgot this picture.   it's a picture of another fruit and the tree it is growing on in the garden.  it's called a flat peach - because it's not a regular shaped peach.   looks more like a mango.
