party time!

every friday different groups of students are supposed to organize a party for the entire program.  this week, it is the latin american students.  i believe next week it is the americans, then europe in week 4 and asia for week 5.

look at this party set up!  well actually some of us think that the university just uses the same organizers every year.  it can't be that the students could put this together in just two days.  after all, we all contribute $500 each towards the class fund that pays for this.  well ok, it is part of the fees so in that sense, most of us did not really pay it ourselves.

there was also a stage.

it was a latin-themed party organised by students from south america.  so of course in the plate above, you have mexican stuff like beans, chips with guacamole, brazilian pork sausages in black bean and their grilled meat, rice, tortilla, and that oval-shaped thing which i can't remember what it was.  then the dessert was just something like churros except that it was shaped differently - it was really good.   the other stuff was a pudding, a rock melon, fig, blueberries and blackberries.

people were dancing to the samba, there was a conga line and everything.
