This will be the first Christmas without all of you - maybe somebody could do a song like Wham. There is probably such a song. Please Come Home for Christmas? Or I'll Be Home for Christmas? The song isn't what it seems...
"I'll Be Home For Christmas"
I'm dreaming tonight of a place I love
Even more than I usually do
And although I know it's a long road back
I promise you
I'll be home for Christmas
You can count on me
Please have snow and mistletoe
And presents by the tree
Christmas eve will find me
Where the love light gleams
I'll be home for Christmas
If only in my dreams
I'll be home for Christmas
You can count on me
Please have some snow and mistletoe
And presents by the tree
Christmas eve will find me
Where the love light gleams
I'll be home for Christmas
If only in my dreams
If only in my dreams
Even more than I usually do
And although I know it's a long road back
I promise you
I'll be home for Christmas
You can count on me
Please have snow and mistletoe
And presents by the tree
Christmas eve will find me
Where the love light gleams
I'll be home for Christmas
If only in my dreams
I'll be home for Christmas
You can count on me
Please have some snow and mistletoe
And presents by the tree
Christmas eve will find me
Where the love light gleams
I'll be home for Christmas
If only in my dreams
If only in my dreams
I will miss very much being there, and the pictures from last year bring back such good memories for me. Not sure if they do for you, like the photos from the other Christmases (and other times we've shared) I've been sharing. Regardless, I will keep sharing them and hope you enjoy them. I think you will in the future, even if not now.
Christmas has always been a time of joy with friends and family, and I guess for the first time in my life I sort of understand what it's like for others who are less fortunate. I don't mean the material things in my life, for which none of us are really missing out on (at least those things that are needed). But the less fortunate in spirit. Those who are lonely, or do not have meaning in their lives, or feel that no one cares - think I will watch "It's a Wonderful Life" again (it has been a while since I saw this classic). It is a reminder for me to keep reaching out to others.
So this year, since I am not able to bring home gifts for the typical Christmas celebration (in any case, we often end up with stuff we don't use), I have decided to do something a little different. I am going to give all of you a 'bonus' (even though I didn't get one!). I will put in your accounts a small amount of money and my only request is that you don't spend it on yourself, but to find a way to bless others with it. These are difficult times and it is our duty to help.
